Introduction of Buyi Music
Buyi music is the traditional music of Buyi people in China. Buyi folk music can be divided into three categories: folk songs, instrumental music and opera music. Buyi people have three local language areas. Due to the differences in economic development, geographical environment, local dialects and cultural exchanges with neighboring ethnic groups, folk songs circulating in local dialect areas show various forms and colorful characteristics. 1 Dialect area, including two autonomous prefectures of Qiannan and Qianxinan, namely Mengjiang, Ejiang and Beipanjiang basins north of Hongshui River, is the main inhabited area of Buyi people, and retains its original features in folk music. Folk songs in this area are characterized by two parts: big songs and small songs, and one part in major and minor.
