What are the advantages and disadvantages of stamping?

Compared with other processing methods, stamping has many unique advantages, both technically and economically, mainly in the following aspects:

(1) The dimensional accuracy is guaranteed by the mold, so the quality of the processed parts is stable and consistent, with the characteristics of "identical";

(2) Parts with thin wall, light weight, good rigidity, high surface quality and complex shape can be obtained by stamping method, which cannot or is difficult to manufacture by other processing methods;

(3) the material utilization rate is high, which belongs to less chip-free processing;

(4) high efficiency, convenient operation and low technical level of required workers;

(5) The die has long service life and low production cost.

However, the stamping process also has the following disadvantages:

(1) High noise and vibration;

(2) The mould requires high precision, complicated manufacturing, long cycle and expensive manufacturing cost, so small batch production is limited;

(3) If the precision of parts is too high, it is difficult to meet the requirements in stamping production.
