Key Skills Operation of Intermediate Fire Control Facilities Operators (1)

Since the release of new standards, new teaching materials and new guidance books for fire equipment operators, Liaoning, Shanghai, Fujian and Inner Mongolia took the lead in organizing the national unified examination for fire equipment operators in May 20021year. Key skills are added to the new standard "Fire Facilities Operators", and skills related to core professional competence are defined as key skills. Candidates who violate the operating rules or fail to meet the requirements of this skill in the skill assessment will be disqualified. In order to help you prepare for the exam effectively, I have summarized the key skills of fire facility operators for you, which will be released in stages, hoping to help candidates who want to apply for fire facility operators.

Today, I will introduce to you the key skills of an intermediate fire-fighting facility operator: being able to switch the working state of the electric control cabinet of wet and dry automatic sprinkler systems, and manually start and stop the pump group.

First, the function, panel composition and operation control of the electrical control cabinet of the fire pump unit.

1. Functions of electrical control cabinet of fire pump unit

According to the needs of system operation control and maintenance management, the electrical control cabinet of wet and dry automatic sprinkler system mainly has the functions of starting and stopping pumps, switching between main and standby pumps, automatic manual switching, dual power supply switching, patrol inspection, protection and feedback of mechanical emergency start.

(1) pump start-stop function

The control cabinet is provided with buttons for manually starting and stopping each fire pump, and input terminals for remotely controlling the start of the fire pump. The start, operation and stop of the fire pump should be normal, and the indicator light and instrument display should be normal.

(2) Switching function of main pump and standby pump

When the main pump fails, the standby pump will be put into operation automatically after a delay. The starting time of the water pump should not exceed 2 minutes.

(3) Automatic manual switching function

In the automatic state, the water pump can be started manually or remotely, and the multi-line control panel can stop the water pump remotely. In manual mode, the water pump can be started and stopped by the start-stop button of the control cabinet.

(4) Dual power switching function

The control cabinet shall have the function of automatic switching of dual power supplies. The power supply used by the fire pump should be the fire power supply, and the dual power supply switching device can be set near or inside the electrical control cabinet of the fire pump group. ?

(5) Inspection function

With regular automatic inspection and manual inspection functions. High-power fire pump can be operated by frequency conversion to reduce the impact on power grid and pipe network when the pump is started.

(6) Protection function

The control cabinet shall have the functions of overload protection, short circuit protection, overvoltage protection, open-phase protection, undervoltage protection and overheating protection. When the above situation occurs, the fault light of the electrical control cabinet of the fire pump unit is always on and sends out a fault signal.

(7) Feedback function

The control cabinet shall have the function of feeding back signals such as pump start, pump stop, pump failure and manual/automatic status to the alarm host in the fire control room.

(8) Mechanical emergency start function

The control cabinet shall have mechanical emergency start function. When the control circuit in the control cabinet fails, the personnel with management authority can start the fire pump urgently.

2. Panel composition of electrical control cabinet of fire pump unit

Take the electrical control cabinet of a fire pump group as an example, and its panel composition is shown in the following figure:?

What is the function of the panel assembly of the fire pump control cabinet?

Note: According to different manufacturers, the functions of the electrical control cabinet of the fire pump unit and the number of buttons/switches may be different. Please refer to relevant product information for details.

Operation control and working state of electrical control cabinet of fire pump unit

Second, the fire pump electrical control cabinet operation steps

Step 1: Check and confirm that the system is in a good and effective state.

Step 2: Operate the control cabinet panel to realize manual/automatic switching and main/standby pump switching. As shown in the figure below:

diagrammatic presentation

A) automatic mode (1 main mode and 2 standby mode)

B) manual mode

C) automatic mode (2 main 1 standby)

When the change-over switch is in the middle gear, it indicates the manual operation state. The start/stop of the fire pump is operated by the start button on the control cabinet panel, and the automatic control fails.

When the change-over switch is turned to the left position, it means that 1# pump is the main pump and 2# pump is the standby pump, referred to as1;

When the change-over switch is turned to the right position, it means that 2# pump is the main pump and 1# pump is the standby pump, which is called 2 # main 1 standby pump for short. Whether the change-over switch is in the left or right position, it represents the automatic operation state. At this point, the system can realize the function of automatic start of the main pump, and the manual control of the control cabinet panel fails. During operation, when the main pump fails, the standby pump can be put into operation automatically.

Step 3: switch between main and standby power supplies. Take the dual power transfer switch (as shown below) as an example, and the switching operation of the main and standby power supplies is as follows:

diagrammatic presentation

A) public power supply

B) switching operation modes

C) standby power supply

1- Run mode switch button

2- Turn the handle

1. Check and confirm the current power supply status of ordinary power supply (point n/r), and the indicator light of N power supply (ordinary power supply) is on.

2. Put the operation mode switch button 1 in manual mode.

3. Turn handle 2 to standby power supply state (N minutes, R is on), and observe that the N power indicator is off and the R power indicator is on.

4. Turn the handle 2 to the normal power supply state and switch the operation mode switch to the automatic mode.

Note: For the self-switching and self-resetting type transfer switch, after manual switching to standby power supply, the operation mode switch can be directly switched back to automatic mode, and the transfer switch can automatically restore normal power supply.

Step 4: Simulate the faults of main power supply and main pump respectively, and test the automatic operation of standby power supply and standby pump.

1. Check and confirm that the dual power switch is in automatic operation mode, cut off the main power supply, and observe that the standby power supply returns to the main power supply after automatic switching.

2. Confirm that the control cabinet is in automatic operation mode, and make the pressure switch run by draining water from the terminal water testing device. After the main pump starts and runs smoothly, simulate the failure of the main pump (cut off the switch of the main pump or simulate the action of the thermal relay of the main pump, see the figure below for the thermal relay. Observe that the standby pump should be put into operation automatically, and the system will resume normal operation after the pump is stopped manually.

Step 5: Manually start and stop the operation of the fire pump.

1. Confirm that the control cabinet is in manual operation mode.

2. Press any fire pump start button to observe the operation of the instrument, indicator light and motor.

3. Press the corresponding fire pump stop button to observe the operation of the instrument, indicator light and motor.

4. The control cabinet resumes the automatic operation mode.

Step 6: Record the inspection and test.

Third, matters needing attention

1. After the fire pump is started, pay close attention to the operation of the control cabinet, fire pump, pipe network and other equipment, and observe the indication information of the control cabinet panel, the operation of the motor, whether the pressure in and out of the water pipe of the fire pump is normal, and whether the motor and pipe network have abnormal vibration or sound. In case of abnormal situation, stop the vehicle in an emergency and record the operation on the operation record. If it needs maintenance, it should be repaired as soon as possible. ?

2. When the water pump is started for a long time, the valve of the water testing pipeline or water equipment should be opened to form a drainage channel.

3. Take care of facilities and equipment. When operating, the force is appropriate, the action is accurate, and the gear shifting is clear and soft, preventing long-term pressing and brutal gear shifting. Pay attention to safety when using electricity, and strictly abide by the operating rules.

? 4. At ordinary times, the control cabinet should make the fire pump in the automatic pump start state.
