What kind of person is Trump?

Although it will take some time for US President Donald Trump to get the brand-new Cadillac Army One. However, as a business giant, Trump has a history of customizing Cadillac models far longer than he has been in politics. Recently, the Volo Automobile Museum in Illinois, USA, collected a 1988 Cadillac Brougham extended limousine, which originally belonged to Trump, thus revealing a little-known story nearly 30 years ago.

In this historical photo of 1976, Trump, who has just emerged in the commercial field, takes a Cadillac fleetwood as his car. The license plate number "DJT" is the abbreviation of his full name Donald John Trump.

1988, Trump entrusted Cadillac and body manufacturer Dilliner Coachworks to manufacture a number of extended luxury cars based on the new Cadillac Brougham for him and his company. To this end, Cadillac teamed up with Drina to create two prototypes for Trump, named "Trump Gold Series" and "Trump Exclusive Series" respectively.

The new one bought from the Volo Automobile Museum must have been used by Trump himself, that is, the one named "Trump Gold Series". It can be seen that the logo of this customized model is gold with the words "Cadillac Trump Series" in the middle. There is a stainless steel panel on the extended side window behind the B-pillar, which makes it different from other extended luxury cars based on Cadillac.

As can be seen from the photos at that time, the "Trump Gold Series" model has spacious leather seats, a large number of mahogany decorations, luxurious wine cabinets and, of course, gold-plated elements that Trump likes. In contrast, another "Trump Exclusive Series" has basically the same appearance, but there are relatively few gold-plated decorations.

As a mobile office for Trump's business trip, this customized model has a monitor, three car phones, a fax machine and even office equipment such as a shredder.

It was originally planned to manufacture 50 TrumpSeries models, but later the business plan changed and the transaction did not continue. Two prototypes of "Trump Gold Series" were for Trump's own use, and the other "Trump Exclusive Series" (pictured above) was given to his father Fred Trump. This car is currently owned by a British car collector.

Trump once mentioned his "Trump Gold Series" in his biography "The Art of Trading" and called it "the best extended limousine in the world", which shows his love for this exclusive car. Before joining Army One, Trump often ordered Cadillac models. For example, at the 2005 new york Auto Show, he bought the first 2006 Cadillac DTS off the assembly line.
