What does classical philology study?

Classical philology is a Chinese major in many schools, but it is not essentially different from historical philology. At present, there are almost no schools in China that offer literature majors at the undergraduate level (Peking University had it earlier, but I don't know it now), so it may not be easy to fall into the wrong pit. In addition, in addition to handed down documents (the research of scholars in Qing Dynasty has reached its peak), unearthed philology also has an important force, that is, reading and studying unearthed documents and handed down texts. The subjects involved are not only Chinese and history in general, but also archaeology. Under the subdivision, it includes ancient characters, ancient documents and other directions. Generally speaking, ancient literature is very theoretical, difficult and boring, but it is very interesting under empirical conditions. Employment, all knowledge is good, and work is not a problem. If you graduate from a master's degree, you can edit ancient books, edit the history section of the website and so on. You can do scientific research if you graduate from a doctor. The category of middle school teachers mentioned by everyone actually does not correspond to the literature. Any graduate majoring in history in China can speak Chinese and history in primary and secondary schools after training. If you are not interested in research, you should choose carefully.
