Why Laba porridge is a traditional Five Blessingg porridge?

According to historical records, "La Worship" can be traced back to the period of Three Emperors and Five Emperors. At the end of each year, the ancients held a grand sacrifice activity-"La Worship". The object of their sacrifice is not their ancestors, but the four gods related to agricultural activities. In the sacrificial activities, it is stipulated that "eight kinds of wax are sacrificed to all directions", that is, eight kinds of grains are sacrificed to eight kinds of "gods" related to agriculture. Because in the period of agricultural civilization, people thought that the most fundamental thing in life was to "eat enough and wear warm clothes", so they worshipped the gods related to agriculture.

Until now, drinking Laba porridge on the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month is still very popular, and the ingredients used in porridge are not limited to eight. Laba porridge is very rich in materials, and the materials and practices in different regions will be different, but no matter which one is full of people's good wishes for good weather, sickness-free groaning and adequate food and clothing in the coming year.
