What is CT for?
CT generally refers to X-ray CT, whose scientific name is "X-ray computed tomography", and CT is the abbreviation of its English name. At present, most large hospitals have CT equipment for the diagnosis of cerebrovascular diseases. Is the doctor's right-hand man.
CT examination is a combination of X-ray and computer technology. At work, it is scanned layer by layer like a scalpel, and then processed by computer, and compared with the normal tissue image, which can clearly show the lesions that can not be displayed by general X-ray examination. Therefore, CT is a better technique than X-ray examination. There are many lesions, and CT can check them clearly.
CT can be used to examine the brain and many internal organs, with good results. However, it also has the disadvantage that it cannot be used for the examination of heart diseases. Because the scanning speed of ordinary CT is too slow, it takes 1 second to scan each slice at the fastest speed. Three-dimensional computer images of human head scanned by X-ray CT can not overcome the influence of heartbeat, and will produce shadows when displayed, which will bring difficulties to doctors in judging the condition.
Can CT speed up scanning? Foreign scientists have developed ultra-high-speed CT, which makes ordinary CT catch up with expressway.
Compared with ordinary CT, the scanning speed of ultra-high speed CT is 40 times faster than that of ordinary CT. In this way, many diseases that could not be detected by CT before can be detected by ultra-high-speed CT, such as coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, pericardial disease, pulmonary embolism and so on. For some uncooperative patients, such as children and the elderly, because of the high scanning speed of ultra-high-speed CT, patients do not need to keep quiet for a long time, so they can also achieve good inspection results.
In addition, ultra-high-speed CT can also be used to select the preoperative position of coronary artery bypass grafting to know whether the blood vessels are opened after operation. We can say that CT on expressway is the only latest and most advanced medical technology, which can make a comprehensive early diagnosis of heart disease.
Of course, ultra-high-speed CT is not everything. The use of this technology does not exclude other inspection methods. On the contrary, they should complement each other. Especially for those diseases with very complicated conditions, we can't just rely on the results of ultra-high-speed CT examination to make a diagnosis, but we must adopt various methods to carry out comprehensive examination. Moreover, the cost of ultra-high-speed CT is higher than that of general CT, which inevitably limits its application scope.
