Why do Japanese women wear kimono?
Japan was a barbaric land in ancient times, people were naked, or just find something to wear, not comfortable, not elegant.
Western Jin Dynasty, the five hu chaos, China orthodoxy transferred to the Yangtze River generation. Chinese civilization was also preserved only there. History calls the Three Kingdoms period of Wu, the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and later Song, Qi, Liang and Chen together as the Six Dynasties.
During the Six Dynasties, many Japanese came to China to study. They found that the Chinese civilization was great! So some Japanese started to introduce Chinese civilization to Japan. The two cores of Chinese civilization are clothes and system (Hua is the beautiful clothes and Xia is the perfect system). So, both the cloak and the system were introduced to Japan. Since the Six Dynasties were in the south, the south was the seat of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. Therefore, at that time, some people called the place of the Six Dynasties "Wu", and therefore called the Chinese clothing "Wu clothing".
After passing on the Chinese clothes, Japanese people felt like civilized people, so the Wu clothes were widely spread and became the traditional clothes of Japan.
