The main contents: raising and honoring one's parents, obeying and admonishing one's parents, transmitting the family lineage, bereaving and offering sacrifices to one's parents, and establishing one's self and one's merit in order to show one's parents.

In the face of modern society, the value of filial piety is being gradually reduced. This is because ancient society was based on agriculture and family. Modern society is industrial mass production of urbanization, society-based, filial piety applied to the scope of change. The relationship based on the support of both parents and children will be replaced by the social security of the whole society and individuals. The family relationship based on morality will be replaced by the social relationship based on law.

My opinion, therefore, is that the overemphasis on filial piety and other ancient things is a bit quaint and of limited significance to the construction of modern family morality.
