What is the principle of pile driver?

Pile hammer consists of hammer head and hammer seat, which is powered by steam or compressed air. There are two kinds of single-acting steam hammer and double-acting steam hammer. Single-acting steam hammer uses plunger or cylinder as hammer head, and steam drives the hammer head to rise, and then makes it fall along the guide rod of hammer seat for piling. Double-acting steam hammer generally uses weighted plunger as hammer head and cylinder as hammer seat. The steam drives the hammer head to rise, and then drives the hammer head to impact the piling downwards. The up-and-down reciprocating speed is fast and the frequency is high, which makes the pile vibrate when it goes deep into the stratum, which can reduce the friction resistance and achieve good piling effect. The bidirectional differential steam hammer with unequal force has light weight, relatively increased effective impact weight and better performance. The reversing of the steam inlet and exhaust rotary valves of the steam hammer can be manually or automatically controlled by a flange operating lever installed on one side of the hammer head and lifting with the hammer head. Both methods can adjust the impact stroke of steam hammer.
