Introduction to M4 CPM
Cpm4 is a kind of powder high speed steel widely used at present. Its properties and chemical composition are similar to those of ASP23, and it is a high-speed steel with good toughness and excellent wear resistance. Generally speaking, the wear resistance of high-speed steel will increase with the increase of total alloy composition and maximum hardness, while the toughness will decrease with the increase of alloy content, so it will be improved on the basis of traditional high-speed steel M 2. The wear resistance of CPM M4 depends on the hardness and carbide formation after heat treatment. CPM Company added carbon and vanadium to M2 to improve the wear resistance. At the same time, considering the toughness, the toughness of CPM M4 is improved by powder metallurgy process, which makes the toughness of CPM M4 higher than that of the traditional M2 high speed steel. According to statistics, its toughness is about 2-3 times that of traditional high-speed steel, and its wear resistance is 3-5 times that of traditional high-speed steel. Wide application range, suitable for all kinds of stamping dies, insert dies, powder forming dies, broaches, milling cutters, tapping cutters and shearing cutters in cutting tools, and suitable for any parts that need wear resistance or toughness. Combining the above two properties, CPM M4 is a high-speed high-quality steel with the most uses and the best properties on the market. Hardness varies from industry to industry, and depends on production needs. Hardness is generally between HRC 60-66 and 66.
