What is the design concept of harmonious interior design?
Japan is an island country surrounded by the sea, with diverse natural landscapes and rich forest resources. Most of the early Japanese buildings used primitive wood. Being in an open room, sitting in a Japanese-style living room, tasting exquisite Japanese cuisine, and feeling integrated with the natural environment all the time. Therefore, adopting traditional folk art techniques and design elements, emphasizing the rational application of natural colors and materials, creating an idyllic and comfortable atmosphere in the house has formed a new harmonious style combining traditional Japanese style with modern functional life style.
When it comes to harmony style, we have to say harmony room. Japan has one of the highest population densities in the world. Because of the vast land and sparsely populated, most of the home space is quite narrow. Compartment in traditional Japanese houses has many uses, which integrates most of the functions of the family. It can be used as a family gathering, dining, study and bedroom, and can also be used temporarily as needed. Early Japanese people used to sleep on tatami in their rooms and seldom used beds. The new Japanese design gives more consideration to the space scale, comfort and functional requirements of the human body, expands the space by using the reflection of colors, patterns and glass mirrors, breaks the indifference of thousands of people, and endows each family room with personalized characteristics through careful design.
Natural materials are the most distinctive part of Japanese decoration. A long time ago, foreigners thought that Japanese houses were built of "wood and paper". However, because paper is made of wood, Japanese houses are built from trees. Nowadays, buildings in Japan use all kinds of raw materials, such as so-called "new building materials" plastics, tiles, reinforced concrete and so on. And the traditional concept of "wood and paper" has also added new elements accordingly, and challenged new fields with the help of modern science and technology.
Respect for tradition is a major feature of Japanese culture, and craftsmen are extremely well paid in Japan. Hand-made lacquerware, pottery, porcelain, flower arrangement, ukiyo-e painting, hand-made fabric and so on are all exquisite to the extreme.
As Diderot, a French enlightenment thinker, said, "Beauty and relationship are born, long and dead". Interior design is a whole art, a grasp of the relationship between space, shape, color and reality, a grasp of artistic conception creation, and a coordination with the surrounding environment. Japanese design in the new century pays attention to the embodiment of style and the combination of modernization and nationalization, and carries out overall supporting design from architecture, interior decoration to accessories, so as to achieve unified beauty in coordination.
