About the Yellow River

Folk Tales:

1- Legend has it that there was a young man named Huang He, who was very brave. He fell in love with a rich woman. But the woman's father looked down on him and asked him to shoot an arrow within a hundred paces into the hole of a coin. He did it. The woman's father asked him to shoot an arrow at a hundred paces that pierced the original arrow and he did. He was asked to shoot a coin and catch it at a hundred paces. Knowing that his husband was making things difficult for him, he shot an arrow at her father. But he had learned kung fu before and dodged it. He was furious, he never misses an arrow, but this time he missed. He went to the mountains to train. He accidentally shot a bird, which told him that the girl had committed suicide. The boy was so sad that his tears kept flowing and formed the yellow river that rolls now.

2-Da Yu had three treasures when he ruled the Yellow River, the river map, the axe to open the mountain and the sword to avoid water. Legend has it that the river map was given to him by the River Bo. Once upon a time, there was a man named Feng Yi, but he was drowned in the Yellow River. After his death, Feng Yi went to the Jade Emperor to sue the Yellow River, and the Jade Emperor asked Feng Yi to govern the Yellow River, and from then on, Feng Yi was called He Bo. He was determined to draw a river map. Hebo and the village Hou Lao Han looked at the water condition of the Yellow River, but Hou Lao Han was tired and sick, and Hebo continued to look at the water condition along the Yellow River. Hebo finished drawing the river map, but he was already old and weak. When it was time for Dayu to come out to treat the water, Hebo gave him the river map. Da Yu followed the instructions on the map and cured the Yellow River.

Myths and legends:

1- Yu Ji replaces Jiu Ji, Jiu Ji is a father and son. Jiu Ji replaces his father with Ji Ji, and adopts the method of "dredging" to divert the flood water to the sea. He labored with the people, wearing an Ruo hat, holding a spade, digging and picking the soil, and wore out the hair on his calves. After nine years of labor, he finally succeeded. After thirteen years of hard work, Yu finally diverted the floodwaters to the sea, and the ground was again ready for people to grow crops. Later generations honored Yu by calling him "Da Yu".

2-Feng Yi, the eldest member of the River Bo, was ordered to control the Yellow River, but he did not cure the Yellow River after a lifetime of hard work. When he was old, he traveled through the mountains and rivers to inspect the water conditions and drew a map of the Yellow River, and then, after a long and difficult journey, he found Dayu and gave the map to him. Based on this map, Dayu dredged the waterway and finally managed the Yellow River.
