How is wood made into boards?
1. Raw wood board: sawed directly from logs, and the width and length are limited by the size of logs, with different specifications. It is generally used for wood floors, packaging boxes, rough (primitive) style furniture, or as raw materials for further processing. In ancient times when there was no modern high-pressure gluing technology, there were only two ways to obtain large-size wooden boards: one was to find logs with as large a diameter as possible, with high cost and small quantity; Second, small wooden boards are spliced with tenons and mortises, which are complicated to process and easy to open. The original board needs proper drying treatment and stress release to avoid warping and cracking in the future. Its advantages are beautiful pattern, high strength, natural and environmental protection, and no formaldehyde release.
2. Finger joint board: a solid board made by splicing a plurality of boards, each board has the same thickness as Huasong board, and there is no need to press plywood up and down. Because the vertical board adopts serrated interface, which is similar to the cross docking of two hands and fingers, it is called finger joint board. Finger joint board uses less glue, is more environmentally friendly, has beautiful wood grain, and has higher wood utilization rate and cost than man-made board.
3. Wood board: also known as large core board and wood core board, it is an artificial board made of outer veneer and glued wood strips in the middle. The upper and lower veneers are made of logs by rotary cutting or planing, and the thickness is about 1mm, which is used to completely cover the board, provide transverse strength and present beautiful wood grain. The middle splicing batten is made of wood lines with equal length, width and thickness through wood drying, and its main function is to provide a certain thickness and strength for the board. Wood boards have low requirements for logs, and logs of various materials and sizes can be used, so the wood utilization rate is high.
