The University of Massachusetts, founded in 1863, is a public university in Massachusetts. With 60,000 registered students, it is the largest university group in New England, and a comprehensive school recognized by the Association of Colleges and University of New England (the Association is one of the six most authoritative certification institutions in the United States that accredit universities in the region by region, and is also recognized by the United States Department of Education).
