The difference between Sichuan opera and Beijing opera

The tone of Peking Opera is mainly Xipi and Huanger, with huqin and gongs and drums. It is known as the quintessence of China and is the "top spot" of China opera Sandingjia. Sichuan Opera is a traditional drama, which combines five vocal arts: Gao Qiang, Kunqu Opera, Huqin (that is, Pihuang), Tanxi (that is, Bangzi) and Sichuan folk lanterns.

2. Different places of origin

Peking Opera originated in Anqing and Huizhou in southern Anhui. Anhui Opera is the predecessor of Beijing Opera. Peking Opera travels all over the world, with Beijing as the center and all over China. Sichuan Opera is popular in eastern and central Sichuan, Chongqing and parts of Guizhou and Yunnan.

3. Different accompaniment instruments

Beijing Opera accompaniment instruments are divided into percussion instruments and orchestral instruments: percussion instruments include banban, Dan Pigu, gongs and cymbals, which are called "martial arts venues"; Orchestral instruments include Jinghu, Jinghu Erhu, Yueqin and Sanxian, which are called "Wenchang".

The accompaniment instruments of Sichuan Opera are mainly gongs and drums, as well as small drums, hall drums, big gongs, big cymbals and small gongs (also called hinges), which are collectively called "five parties", and strings and suona are six parties, which are conducted by small drums.
