Why do many rural people believe in birthdates and fortune telling?

First of all, I think this has always been a custom in many rural areas, and it still exists in many places now. I have known this since I was a child, because there are many fortune tellers in my grandmother's side, and they all say that they are very accurate, so my family will tell my fortune every year. My family still believes in this, but I have always had great doubts about this matter. Why do so many people believe and why do so many people choose fortune telling?

But I think there must be a reason why this custom has lasted for so many years, and many people in this line of work are almost old people. I think people in the past were more willing to believe in fate and thought that many things were predestined, which is not unreasonable, but not everything can be known from fortune telling. Some people in rural areas don't believe in fortune telling, and some people trust fortune tellers too much, which affects their normal life, as if they knew their future in advance, and sometimes they will.

I have to say that many people still believe it, especially the older generation. I think the fundamental reason is that when China's economy was backward in the past, these people living in the village were restricted by the economy and other reasons, which led to the rural areas becoming the hardest hit areas of feudal thought. Many rural people worked hard all their lives and could not save any money, so some people would tell their children's fortune after giving birth, and they wanted to know whether their children would live well in the future or not.

But in fact, our own destiny is in our own hands and the way we choose, so in my opinion, some things are really destined, just like you are destined to be the child of your parents now, but how to live your life is up to you.
