How cigarettes are made
The process involves drying and shredding tobacco, and then rolling it in paper in the form of a barrel-shaped strip about 120mm long and 10mm in diameter. When you smoke it, you light one end of it and suck the smoke from the other end. Tobacco is a plant native to South America, and its leaves can be chewed or made into cigarettes. The first people to use tobacco were the Red Indians of the Americas.
By the time European explorers arrived in the New World, the use of tobacco was already quite common in the Americas. By the sixteenth century, tobacco was introduced to Europe and then spread around the world. Prior to the twentieth century, tobacco was mostly used in the form of chewing, snuffing, pipes, and cigars. Toward the end of the nineteenth century, paper cigarettes became the main form of tobacco use, as machines were invented to make cigarettes.

While the chemicals in cigarettes are mainly dried tobacco, they are chemically processed to include a number of added ingredients. The smoke from a lit cigarette contains about 4,000 chemicals, many of which are toxic, mutagenic, and thousands of carcinogens.
Radioactive isotopes are one of the causes of lung cancer in cigarette smokers. Polonium 210 from cigarettes cannot be excreted from the body. It can enter the blood vessels and lead to heart, liver and stomach lesions. Cigarettes also have radium 226 and lead 210. radioactive isotopes are derived from mineral fertilizers. In the 1960s and 1980s, it was discovered that smokers had radioactive isotopes in their bodies. The smoke from lighted cigarettes also contains carcinogens such as nitrosamines and benzo(a)pyrene.
