Is melamine tableware safe?
Safe. Melamine tableware is non-toxic. Imitation porcelain tableware is also called imitation porcelain tableware, also called melamine tableware. It is a melamine resin powder made of melamine-formaldehyde resin as raw material, cellulose as base material, and additives such as pigments. The imitation porcelain powder used in the production of formal imitation porcelain tableware does contain melamine and formaldehyde. Because the polymerization process of melamine and formaldehyde is irreversible, the synthesized melamine-formaldehyde resin is non-toxic and stable, and can be used in normal heating range. But because it still releases a small amount of harmful substances, its safety is lower than that of traditional ceramic tableware. For families, this kind of tableware is not recommended. Due to the particularity of molecular structure of melamine plastic, melamine tableware can not hold high-temperature food, and it is not suitable for microwave oven. If used, it will crack.
