What is an ER diagram? Explanation of ER diagram
1. The ER entity-relation diagram (Entity-RelationDiagram) is used to establish a data model. It belongs to the conceptual design stage in the introduction to database systems and forms an ER diagram model that is independent of the machine and DBMS.
It is usually referred to as an ER diagram. Correspondingly, the data model depicted by an ER diagram can be called an ER model.
ER diagram provides a method to represent entities (ie data objects), attributes and relationships to describe the conceptual model of the real world.
2. The ER model was first proposed by Peter Chen in 1976. It has been widely recognized in the field of database design, but is rarely used as a data model for actual database management systems.
Even for the SXL-92 database, designing a good database can be challenging.
They can be found in much of the literature on database design, such as the work of Toby Teorsey (1994).
Most database design products use the entity-relationship model (ER model) to help users design databases.
The ER database design tool provides a "box and arrow" drawing tool to help users create ER diagrams to depict data.
