Many rural people are eager to raise a few pigs, but few people really want to raise them. Why?

As we all know, raising pigs is a very profitable industry. However, for the vast number of rural free-range households, they have not caught up with this wave of market. Because the vast majority of rural free-range households have gradually withdrawn from the live pig market as early as a few years ago. So why didn't the situation of raising pigs in every household in the past reappear? Today we will talk about this topic.

My hometown is a very remote mountain village. Every household in the countryside used to raise pigs. The average person keeps about two heads, and some people keep three heads if they have more food. But that's basically all, and there won't be any more, because there is not enough care. One of the pigs is to kill pigs during the Chinese New Year, to eat pork and cured bacon during the Chinese New Year, and to eat next year. In addition, there is a pig. After fattening, it will be sold in the market. For thousands of dollars, it can pay for children's tuition and treat the elderly. In short, it will subsidize the family.

About five years ago, the number of people raising pigs in their hometown decreased significantly. My own family stopped raising pigs at that time. Because, at that time, my family's situation was that my mother came to town to help me take care of my children, and only my father grew crops at home, so I couldn't keep them if I was too busy alone. The situation of other villagers is similar, mainly because most of them have gone out to work, few people are at home, and even some villagers have gone out to work. Just like my uncle's family, they went out to work more than ten years ago. Except for a few days after the Chinese New Year holiday, they are basically not in their hometown in the countryside, so 10 has not raised pigs for many years.

Because the money earned by farming and raising pigs at home is still much worse than that earned by working outside, and now pork is very convenient to buy, so you can eat it at any time if you want. It used to take more than ten miles to go shopping for meat, and it took several hours to go back and forth. At present, most families in rural areas have motorcycles or cars, and the roads in rural areas have been repaired, making shopping very convenient. So when you want to eat pork, you can always buy fresh pork, which is one reason why many people don't raise pigs.

Of course, some people raise pigs to keep their hearts cold. Why do you say that? In the past two years, the pig market has been really hot, and the price of pigs has been rising all the way. Raising pigs is really profitable, but if we go back a few years, the previous price of pigs is very low, only a few dollars a catty. It costs more than 1000 yuan to sell a pig. Although it is not cost-effective to feed pigs with their own food in rural areas, it is bound to take time and effort. I remember that in the early years, our domestic pigs could not be sold at all. A little pig 10 yuan, nobody wants it yet. If this had been put aside last year or this year, a 30-catty pig would have sold for one or two thousand yuan.

Therefore, after we raised sows at home for several years, my father stopped raising them because it was really uneconomical and lost money. Many free-range households actually had the same idea, because pigs were worthless at that time. Moreover, for a period of time, environmental protection work was managed in rural areas, requiring farmers to rebuild pig pens, otherwise they would not provide them, so they refused to raise pigs when there were many people.
