What is the custom of Chaoshan?

1. Chaoshan customs include worship of gods and sugar lions, separation of families, Qinglong Temple Fair, giving gifts to the god of wealth, sending spring baskets, eating New Year's Eve dinner, offering sacrifices, planting banyan trees in the Lantern Festival, crossing sugarcane lanes, raoping Cai Qing, and worshiping the "five grain owners". There are many folk customs in Chaoshan, which is also the place that Chaoshan people have always been proud of.

Besides traditional festivals, they also keep the Orchid Festival. In addition, there are other distinctive customs, such as eating seven kinds of soups, racing pigs in Chenghai, dragging the gods with salt stoves and so on.
