Three hundred words of Sizhou opera creation

Sizhou Opera is one of the four major Han operas in Anhui Province, formerly known as Soul-pulling Opera, which is popular on both sides of Huaihe River in Anhui Province and has a history of more than 200 years. It, like Liuqin Opera in Shandong and Huaihai Opera in Jiangsu, has developed from the "soul-pulling cavity", and there is a certain blood relationship between them.

Sizhou Opera is one of the four outstanding operas in Anhui alongside Huizhou Opera, Huangmei Opera and Lu Opera. It has a profound mass base and rich cultural background, and sings on both sides of the Huaihe River and all over the country with beautiful vocals and melodies. Popular on both sides of Huaihe River in Anhui Province, it was originally named "La Soul Hall".

Sizhou Opera is closely related to people's life and customs in northern Anhui, showing strong regional cultural characteristics. However, in recent years, with the rapid development of society, the audience is gradually decreasing, the performance is losing money, the traditional skills are on the verge of extinction, and the survival of Sizhou Opera is in crisis, which urgently needs the support of the government and society.

On May 20th, 2006, Sizhou Opera was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
