How did the Olympic volleyball system work out? What do you know about it?

The Olympic volleyball tournaments for men and women have a group stage, quarterfinals, semifinals, third and fourth place finals, and a final.

The men and women are divided into two groups, AB, with six teams in each group. A single round-robin tournament was played first, with the top 4 teams in each group advancing to the knockout rounds. The format is as follows:A1 vs B4A4 vs B1Other teams will be paired by draw (A2 vs B2 or B3; A3b3 or B2).

Semi-finals: champions A1/B4 vs champions A3/B2 (B3); champions A2/B3 (B2) vs champions A4/B1.

The sixth-placed teams in each group stage will tie for 11th place. The fifth-placed teams in each group stage will tie for ninth place. The losers of the quarterfinals are tied for fifth.

The team standings are determined by total points. If the team standings are not tied, the winner will be determined by:

1. If two or more teams are tied in scoring, the outcome will be determined by the number of wins in the group stage.

2. If there is still a tie, the win/loss ratio of the group stage (i.e. the result obtained by dividing the number of group stage wins by the number of losses).

3. If there is still a tie, the scoring ratio of the group games (i.e., the result obtained by dividing the number of points scored by the number of points lost in all group games).

4. If it is still a tie, the team that wins the last set will be ranked first.

RULES

Technical Timeout - Volleyball enters a technical timeout in each set when the leading team reaches 8 points and 16 points; there is no technical stoppage in a tiebreaker. The technical timeout is 1 minute in duration. The technical timeout occurs primarily in consideration of commercial insertions during the broadcast of events. Each team may request two normal 30-second timeouts in the tiebreaker.

Points rules - When there is a 3:1 and 3:0, the winning team gets 3 points and the losing team gets 0 points; when there is a 3:2, the winning team gets 2 points and the losing team gets 1 point.

Men's volleyball - Brazil, the U.S., Russia, Poland, Italy and France are all in contention for medals and gold. Since 1984, Brazil's men's volleyball team has reached the semifinals six times in eight matches, winning two gold and three silver medals.

Women's volleyball - China, the United States and Pakistan are the favorites to win the title, while Serbia and Russia are European teams with some ability to pick up the slack. If Brazil wins, it will be the third consecutive Olympic champion and will go toe-to-toe with the Cuban women of the 1990s.

That's all there is to it, and I hope that helps with your question
