Chen Jieqi was an engraver in China in the Qing Dynasty. Shandong Weixian (now Weicheng District) people, urban residents. Son of Chen Zhi, the official minister of Qing Dynasty. The word Shouqing,No. Hairpin Zhai,No. Seaside Late History, was born in Futao, Qi Dong.

In his later years, Chen Jieqi resigned as the capital and returned to his hometown in Weixian. He is a master of creating and writing couplets, and he is the author of a book, The Joint Copy of Jingkuan Bookstore, with a set of four volumes. This set of books is Chen Jieqi's own couplet and copy. The following are some couplets by Chen Jieqi.

1、

I didn't know the Han and Wei dynasties when I planted peach blossoms;

There is still a wild chrysanthemum that calls itself Emperor Xi.

The first part compares the reclusive Qin people who "don't know the Han and Wei Dynasties" in the Peach Blossom Garden, which is vivid and appropriate. The second part uses the language of Tao Yuanming's On Dissipation with Yan Zi, which says that in May and June, you were lying under the north window, and when the cool wind came, you called yourself the master of the Western Emperor ",which means that you are as indifferent, demanding and indisputable as ancient people. The All-China Federation embodies his thought of resigning from his post and returning to his hometown and the chic state of natural existence.

2、

The yellow fragrance and cream are beautiful;

The mountains are covered with autumn colors.

This couplet further embodies his humanistic feelings of being light without officials, wanting nothing, and only seeking harmony with nature after retiring.

3、

The taste of books nourishes the soul and keeps the red spirit;

Ink flowers have spread to Qingyun since ancient times.

This is a couplet written by Chen Jieqi at the age of sixty-eight. The first couplet reflects the elegance of reading and marking, and does not deal with worldly matters. The second couplet is his ambition to leave behind the ancient prose and express his ambition to climb high and look far.

4、

White crane fairy couple in the cloud;

There are clear springs under the mountain, and the books are overflowing.

5、

The sky hangs in the moonlight valley;

Rain, still wind and dust come from distant mountains.

6、

Fine-tuning new poems must be on the pillow;

Stay until the end of the play.

Through the couplets above, we really understand Chen Jieqi's poetic mood. Chen Jieqi seldom wrote poems in his life (though his poems are extremely profound and wonderful), but relatively speaking, he wrote a lot of couplets. People often say that "poetry expresses ambition", but he expresses his poetry and interest with couplets. Therefore, the literary value of these couplets should not be underestimated.
