Making Coconut Cube Candy

Gather the raw materials. To make delicious coconut squares, you need to prepare:

Combine sugar, water and corn syrup in a saucepan. Heat the pan over medium-high heat while stirring the mixture constantly until the sugar is dissolved.

Bring the mixture in the pan to a boil. Check the temperature of the mixture with a candy thermometer - it needs to reach 115 degrees Celsius.

Add the butter and continue to boil. Once the mixture reaches 115 degrees Celsius, add the butter and stir until it melts and mixes with the butter. Continue cooking the mixture (without stirring) until the temperature reaches 126 degrees Celsius.

Remove the pan from the heat and add the remaining ingredients. Once the temperature of the mixture reaches 126 degrees Celsius, remove the pan from the heat and add the shredded coconut, baking soda and salt, stirring to combine. At this point, the mixture may begin to bubble.
