Basic overview of automobile mold

The most important part of automobile die is panel die. This kind of die is mainly a cold stamping die. In a broad sense, "automobile mold" is the general name of molds for manufacturing all parts on automobiles. Such as stamping die, injection die, forging die, casting wax die, glass die, etc.

Stamping parts on automobile body are generally divided into covering parts, beam parts and general stamping parts. The stamping parts that can clearly show the characteristics of automobile image are automobile panels. Therefore, the more specific automobile die can be said to be "stamping die for automobile panel". Short for stamping die for automobile panel. For example, front door outer panel trimming die, front door inner panel punching die, etc.

Of course, there are more than just stamping parts on the car body. All stamping dies on automobiles are called "automobile stamping dies". To sum up:

1. Automobile mold is the general name of mold for manufacturing all parts on automobile.

2. The automobile stamping die is the die for stamping all stamping parts on the automobile.

3. The stamping die for automobile body is a die for stamping all stamping parts on automobile body.

4. The stamping die for automobile panels is a die for stamping all the panels on the automobile body.

Now, when we talk about automobile dies in this section, it seems that we all refer to automobile panel dies. In order not to be confused with the generalized automobile mold, it is best to use the automobile panel mold instead of the automobile mold when posting.

There are many forms of stamping dies, and stamping dies are also classified according to working nature, die structure and die material.

Generally can be classified according to the following main characteristics:

1. Classification according to process attributes

A. Stamping die: a die for separating materials along a closed or open contour line. Such as blanking die, punching die, cutting die, cutting die, trimming die, cutting die, etc.

B. Bending die: a die that bends a blank or other blank along a straight line (bending line) to obtain a workpiece with a certain angle and shape.

C. Drawing die: it is a die that makes a blank plate into an open hollow part or further changes the shape and size of the hollow part.

D. Forming die: it is a die that directly replicates and forms a blank or semi-finished workpiece according to the shapes of the male die and the female die, and the material itself only produces local plastic deformation. Such as expanding die, necking die, flaring die, wavy forming die, flanging die, shaping die, etc.

2. Classification according to the degree of process combination

A. Single-process stamping die: a stamping die that only completes one stamping process in one stroke of the printing machine.

B. Compound die: a die with only one station. In one stroke of the printing machine, two or more stamping processes are completed at the same station.

C. Progressive die (also called continuous die): a die with two or more stations in the feeding direction of the blank. In one stroke of the press, two or more stamping processes are continuously completed at different stations.

3, according to the product processing method classification

According to the different processing methods of products, dies can be divided into five categories: stamping and shearing dies, bending dies, drawing dies, forming dies and compression dies.

A. Punching and shearing die: the work is accomplished by shearing. The common forms are shearing die, blanking die, punching die, trimming die, edging die, hole drawing die and punching die.

B. Bending die: bending a flat blank into an angle. According to the shape, precision and output of parts, there are many different types of dies, such as common bending die, cam bending die, curling die, arc bending die, bending punching die and torsion die.

C, die drawing: die drawing is to make a flat blank into a seamless container with a bottom.

D. Forming die: refers to changing the blank shape by various local deformation methods, including convex forming die, curling forming die, necking forming die, hole flange forming die and round edge forming die.

E. Stamping die: The metal blank is deformed into the required shape by strong pressure, and its types include extrusion die, embossing die, embossing die and end stamping die.
