Do I need a pass to go to Hong Kong from the Mainland?

The Hong Kong and Macao Pass is a special document for mainland residents to travel to Hong Kong and Macao.

Hong Kong needs Hong Kong's endorsement, and Macao needs Macao's endorsement to go to Macao.

1. First-time Hong Kong and Macao Pass and endorsement.

For the first time, you must submit your application in person to the exit-entry administration office where your account is located. The application materials include: the original and photocopy of the resident ID card and household registration book (copied on A4 paper, which can be copied on the same paper), and two 2-inch color photos with light background (which can also be taken on site at their own expense), respectively, to apply for an endorsement to travel to and from Hong Kong and Macao. If you only go to Hong Kong, you have to apply for a Hong Kong endorsement; if you only go to Macao, you have to apply for a Macao endorsement. If you go to Hong Kong and Macao, you must apply for both endorsements.

Within 10- 15 working days from the date of acceptance.

Pass to and from Hong Kong and Macao 100 yuan each; An endorsement, each 20 yuan; Two-way endorsement, each 40 yuan.

2. Re-apply for endorsement for the existing pass (i.e. additional endorsement).

You can handle it with your ID card and valid travel permit to and from Hong Kong and Macao, or you can handle it as an agent. The agent needs to carry my ID card. (Different cities may have special regulations on signing, please consult the exit-entry administration office where your household registration is located. )

If the validity period of the travel permit between Hong Kong and Macao is less than 6 months (3 months in some cities) or the blank endorsement page is not enough, a new travel permit between Hong Kong and Macao shall be handled according to the first application procedure, and an endorsement shall be applied at the same time.
