What is the relationship between Zhuang architecture and local environment?

The vast majority of Zhuang people still live in the "Diaojiaolou" in the style of "Liao" and "Gan Lan" houses in the Han and Jin Dynasties, a few feet from the ground.

Zhuang area belongs to tropical and subtropical climate, which is hot, rainy and humid. At the same time, the Zhuang area is mountainous. "Gan Lan" residence is ventilated and dry, which can save land. Therefore, most Zhuang people's houses in mountainous areas are "dry" houses.

However, Zhuang people living in the valley plain and near towns generally have two architectural styles: semi-dry column and full-land residence. Houses are mostly brick-wood structures, with white plaster on the exterior walls and decorative patterns on the eaves.
