The Inheritance Significance of zouma town's Folk Stories

1990 zouma town was named as the hometown of folk literature by Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Culture. 1992, the industrial village was named China Folk Story Village; 1998, UNESCO and China Folk Writers Association jointly awarded Wei Xiande the title of China Folk Storyteller (nationwide 10).

The story of Zou Ma is facing a serious crisis, and the main problem lies in the lack of inheritance. Rescuing and protecting the story of Zouma can not only enrich people's cultural life, but also provide research materials for anthropology, culturology, religion, ethnology and dialectology.

In the west, because the development is slower than that in the coastal areas, more folk customs and traditional cultures will be preserved. Zouma town and Jiulongpo District are very active and effective in this work, which is really hard to get. It has important research value and historical and cultural value for social anthropology, culturology, religion, ethnology, dialectology and other disciplines.

The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. On May 20th, 2006, zouma town folk stories were approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. On June 5, 2007, the Ministry of Culture confirmed Wei Xiande in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing as the representative inheritor of this cultural heritage project, which was included in the list of 226 representative inheritors of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects.
