What is Xi 'an's custom?
1, Spring Festival custom
The most solemn festival in Xi is the Spring Festival, also known as "China New Year", which is the first day of the first lunar month every year. People celebrate the Spring Festival from the beginning of the twelfth lunar month to the end of the fifteenth day of the first month, lasting more than 40 days, which shows that people attach importance to the Spring Festival.
In Xi 'an, there is a custom of eating five beans on the fifth day of the twelfth lunar month. Five kinds of beans are used for cooking porridge, drinking five kinds of bean porridge in the morning, eating oil cakes, dining tables and so on. There is also a folk saying that "you will be confused after eating five beans", which means that although you are frugal on weekdays, when you enter the twelfth lunar month, people will be confused and spend money lavishly.
2. Lantern Festival custom
The fifteenth day of the first month is the most lively and joyful time for the New Year in China. Every household hangs lanterns, and children run around with lanterns of dragons, tigers, rabbits and lions.
This lantern was given to my nephew by my uncle. My parents gave it to me, bought it in the market, or made it myself. There is also the Lantern Festival in some places, so this day is also called the Lantern Festival. If it is the first year of a new wife's visit, the bride's family will send lanterns to her daughter, commonly known as "chasing lanterns."
3, February 2 customs
On February 2nd, the most common folk custom in Xi 'an is to eat fried corn beans, fried soybeans, fried noodles and meatballs. This custom is said to have originated in the Tang Dynasty, and is especially loved by children. Because the Dragon King can make clouds and rain, in order to keep the good weather, all people, groups or individuals who have the Dragon King Temple in the village will go to the Dragon King Temple to burn incense and worship on February 2, asking the Dragon King to bless them.
4. Tomb-Sweeping Day customs
Tomb-Sweeping Day is also called "Cold Food Festival", "No Smoking Festival" and "Cold Food Festival", and some people call it "Ghost Festival" because it is a day of mourning. Since ancient times, Xi 'an has had the custom of sweeping graves, offering sacrifices to ancestors, having an outing, wearing willows and eating cold food. ?
5. Duanyang Festival custom
During the Duanyang Festival, there is a common custom in the rural areas of Xi 'an, where grandmothers "wrap their stomachs" for their grandchildren. Chinese-style chest covers are mostly made of red cloth, embroidered with flowers, fish, insects and other patterns, just big enough to protect children's stomachs. A cloth belt is hung around the child's neck, and the left and right belts can be tied behind his waist to prevent his stomach from catching cold at night.
