"1+3 training experiment" is a pilot project of talent training mode launched by Beijing. According to the official statement:

Simply put, it is to provide students with a way to directly enter high-quality characteristic high schools in addition to the unified entrance examination for senior high schools.

Enrollment schools are divided into municipal experimental schools and district experimental schools. The difference is that municipal experimental schools can enroll students across regions in the face of public junior high schools in six districts of Beijing. District-level experimental schools only enroll students in this district.

Since the launch of the project in 20 16, the number of participating schools and enrollment plans has been growing rapidly, from the 1955 plan of 22 schools in 20 16 to 42 schools in 20 19, with a total enrollment plan of 3772 students. After entering 2020, both the number of schools and the enrollment scale are basically stable. This year, the municipal plan 1 120 is more than last year 10, and the municipal plan 2 1 13 is nearly 95% more than last year. The increase is mainly from two new schools.

The advantages of 1+3 project are very obvious. Students can enter high-quality high schools without the pressure of the senior high school entrance examination, so the program has attracted many students' applications. The Education Commission has made it clear that schools are not allowed to conduct cultural tests except in the years when necessary professional tests are conducted in characteristic schools. Therefore, in addition to online registration in previous years, all experimental schools organized interviews for shortlisted students and finally determined the admission results.

This year, the Education Commission introduced the lottery mechanism. The school announces the lottery list, and the admission result is determined by lottery. On the one hand, it improves safety and efficiency and reduces the burden on students; On the other hand, to some extent, students' opportunities are more balanced, which is more conducive to realizing the original intention of the project.

2. Add two new schools.

Two new 1+3 enrollment schools will be established in 2022: Xicheng District 16 1 Middle School and Tongzhou District Beijing School. Students in these two districts have more choices.

3. Students are not allowed to quit the experiment after entering the school.

The original policy allowed students who entered the experiment to withdraw from the experiment before signing up for the junior high school entrance examination. Those who withdrew were transferred back to the original junior lieutenant colonel, who could take the senior high school entrance examination that year, but could not participate in the school quota, municipal overall planning, unified recruitment and directional enrollment.

This year's policy clearly requires students not to quit the experiment after entering school.

4. Combination of allocation and lottery admission.

Except Gongmei Middle School, Xu Beihong Middle School and Zhangjiawan Middle School, the enrollment plans of other municipal experimental schools are all assigned to schools. If the number of applicants is greater than the planned number (usually), they will be admitted by lottery. The enrollment plan of district-level experimental schools is not assigned to schools, that is, after online registration, the admission results will be decided by lottery.

"1+3" training pilot project provides more choices for schools and students, but it may not be suitable for all students.

Students and parents need to be clear about their orientation and development direction. In particular, the through-training mode of experimental schools is different from that of ordinary middle schools. Usually arranged in a separate class, it exists as an experimental class of 1+3 project. In the third grade, they study the connecting courses between junior high school and senior high school, and at the same time they will offer some courses to cultivate comprehensive quality.

In addition, due to the reform of college entrance examination, some schools may put 1+3 project students and ordinary high school students together, which requires students' learning autonomy and planning ability.

The most important thing is that starting from this year, there will be no chance to quit taking the senior high school entrance examination after admission, which means that decision-making must be more cautious and there is no chance of trial and error.

In short, the 1+3 program is generally suitable for students who have certain strength but are not ranked in the top of the school. If they have great learning potential, they should take the traditional senior high school entrance examination and hit a better school.
