Are ESP and EPS the same in the car? What is the difference?
1, ESP and EPS
ESP is the abbreviation of electronic stability system for automobile body. Its main function is to control the posture of the car body when it turns corners at high speed and changes lanes urgently, so as to avoid the car from slipping out of control. EPS is the abbreviation of automobile electric power steering system, which uses the torque generated by the electrification of steering motor to realize steering power. So ESP and EPS are completely different things. They have nothing to do with each other, do not affect each other, and do not interfere with each other.
2.ABS and BAS
ABS is the abbreviation of automobile anti-lock braking system. Its function is to control the braking force of the wheel at the edge of the wheel lock through the automatic control of the electronic control system, and provide the best braking performance while keeping the direction controllable. Ensure the stability of automobile braking direction and prevent side slip and deviation. BAS is the abbreviation of automobile braking force auxiliary system, and the braking force is increased by increasing the assistance of vacuum auxiliary system. This configuration is of great help to the elderly and women, which can automatically increase the braking force of the brake pedal and make the driver drive safer.
3.HAC and HDC
HAC is the abbreviation of uphill auxiliary system. Its function is that when the car starts to go uphill, even if there is no hand brake, it can automatically keep braking for a few seconds, so that the driver has enough time to turn his foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal to prevent the car from slipping. This is a very practical configuration for beginners. HDC is the abbreviation of steep slope descent control. Its function is that when a car goes down a steep slope, which is also commonly known as slope control system, the driver does not need to step on the brake pedal, and the vehicle will automatically control the vehicle to drive at a very low speed at a constant speed, and can apply braking force to the wheels that exceed the safe speed one by one, thus ensuring the smooth descent of the vehicle.
4. European Development Bank and EBA
EBD is the abbreviation of automobile electronic braking force distribution system. Its function is to automatically adjust the braking force distribution ratio of front and rear axles according to the different axle load transfer during automobile braking, improve braking efficiency and improve braking stability with ABS. EBA is the abbreviation of automobile electronic control brake assist system. It can automatically increase the braking force of the braking system when the car brakes, thus shortening the braking distance of the car.
5.HUD and HID
HUD is the abbreviation of automobile head-up digital display system. It can map the important information of automobile condition to the holographic semi-transparent and semi-reflective mirror on the windshield, so that the driver can clearly see the driving state of the automobile without looking down and ensure the driving safety. HID is the abbreviation of automobile xenon headlights, and it is a high-brightness automobile light source. It forms arc discharge by ionizing xenon in headlights and makes it emit light stably, thus forming a stable car headlights lighting system.
6.HPS and EHPS
HPS is the abbreviation of automobile hydraulic power steering system. It is the most common steering power system in cars before, and it is still widely used in trucks and off-road vehicles. EHPS is the abbreviation of automobile electro-hydraulic power steering system. Its characteristic is that the steering pump is driven by the engine instead of the motor. Its advantage is that it can realize speed steering and reduce fuel consumption.
7.ECU and TCU
ECU is the abbreviation of electronic control unit, which generally refers to engine electronic control unit, which is also commonly known as engine computer. TCU refers to the electronic control unit of automatic transmission. These two control units communicate and coordinate with each other at any time during the running of the car. In most models, the two are separated, and some models combine the two into one, which is collectively called ECU.
8.CNG and LNG
CNG is the abbreviation of compressed natural gas vehicle, and LNG is the abbreviation of liquefied natural gas vehicle. The difference between the two is that although the pressure of natural gas in CNG is high, it is still gaseous at room temperature, which requires larger and heavier cylinders. The natural gas in LNG is liquid and its temperature is very low. Cylinders with the same volume can hold more natural gas, so now more LNG vehicles are used, that is, LNG.
9. Ministry of Health and SOHC
DOHC is the abbreviation of double overhead camshaft and SOHC is the abbreviation of single overhead camshaft, both of which belong to the camshaft arrangement of valve train. Relatively speaking, DOHC is more conducive to the intake and exhaust of the engine, and the control is more accurate, so most automobile engines now have double overhead camshafts.
10, four-wheel drive and four-wheel drive
4WD is the abbreviation of four-wheel drive system, which generally means that all four wheels on an off-road vehicle have driving force. This expression is widely used in part-time four-wheel drive. 4WS is the abbreviation of four-wheel steering system, which means that all four wheels of a car can be steered, instead of only two front wheels like ordinary models. However, the rear wheels of most four-wheel steering systems are follow-up steering wheels and do not have the function of active steering.
