How is varicocele treated?
Asymptomatic mild varicocele does not require treatment.
Non-surgical treatment: mild varicocele or those with neurasthenia can be supported by scrotum, cold compresses, etc.
Surgical treatment: the more severe varicocele, sperm count for three consecutive times in
20 million or testicular atrophy; lying down when the varicose veins can disappear, feasible intravesical high ligation. Surgical pathways include:
1. High ligation of the internal spermatic vein through the inguinal canal: the same as the hernia incision, the spermatic cord is exposed, the main trunk of the internal spermatic vein and its branches are identified, and the vein is ligated. This procedure is simple and commonly used. The dilated external spermatic vein and testicular draining vein can be ligated at the same time. If surgical microscope is used during the operation, the result will be better, the recurrence rate will be low, and there will be fewer complications.
2. Trans-iliac fossa route: left lower abdominal oblique incision, push open the peritoneum, in the retroperitoneum, before the external iliac artery to find the spermatic vein to be ligated, the advantage of this is that if the spermatic artery is injured by mistake here will not cause testicular atrophy. The disadvantage is that the transportation branch cannot be treated at the same time.

. Recently, a catheter was inserted through the inferior vena cava and the left renal vein into the left internal spermatic vein and then injected with
5%
sodium cod liver oil or gelatin sponge with a steel ring to embolize this vein and treat varicocele. The disadvantages are that the vein is malformed, is not suitable for embolization if there is collateral circulation, and requires special equipment.
Traditional treatment: The varicocele is ligated in the groin (root of the thigh) using traditional high ligation. The varicose veins are closed due to the fact that the varicose veins stop the flow of blood and thus the varicose veins are closed.
