Questions about Singapore Marriage Law
Singapore's legal provisions are the same as China's marriage law. However, since Singapore has 4 races (Malay, Indian, Chinese and others), it gives different treatment to other races which are different from the Chinese.
Malays in Singapore are legally allowed to have 4 wives at the same time, and all 4 wives are legally recognized and protected by the same treatment. However, in order to have wives other than his first wife, a Malay male can only marry another wife with the written consent of his first wife.
Women in Singapore are not allowed to marry two husbands, regardless of their ethnicity. Especially the Malay race.
