Who is the inheritor of China's traditional culture?
After China experienced the war and the change of system, the traditional culture of China suffered a great crisis in the contemporary era due to the changes of the times and people's ideas and the invasion of foreign culture brought by China's opening to the outside world.
First of all, orthodox traditional culture has no heir. To judge whether a culture can have vitality and continue to exist, we must first judge whether there is an individual or organization whose occupation or responsibility is to inherit this culture, that is, to see whether this culture can be passed down orthodox. Take Confucian culture as an example. As the most important part of China's traditional culture, Confucian culture once occupied an important position in imperial rule and people's life. During the feudal dynasty when Confucian culture was the most popular, the influence of Confucian culture penetrated into the concept of governing the country and families, and even people's words and deeds, treating people, weddings and funerals were restricted by traditional culture everywhere. Although in modern times, many ideas in Confucian culture are a bit stubborn and old-fashioned, which is no longer applicable to our society and life. However, the fine tradition of Confucian culture is the accumulation of excellent moral character of our Chinese nation for thousands of years, which should be advocated. However, today, not only is there no special group dedicated to inheriting the excellent tradition of Confucian culture, but even the excellent moral character of the Chinese nation has gradually disappeared in people's lives. Therefore, the inheritance of civilization is a great danger to China traditional culture in contemporary China.
Secondly, the change of social structure has changed the soil where traditional culture can exist. The most striking feature of culture is its remarkable regionality. By understanding the different cultures of different nationalities around the world, we can see the great influence of the environment. The environment that breeds culture includes the unique natural environment, social structure and specific customs in the area where people live. It can be said that different circumstances have created different cultures and nourished different cultures. Throughout the history of the world, many ancient traditional cultures have been lost because of the disappearance of a country or the decline of a nation. The traditional culture of China originated in ancient China, with family as the main unit and agriculture as the foundation. China's traditional culture mostly embodies this way of production and life. After the collapse of the feudal dynasty, China entered a new era, industrialization became the key goal of the development of new China, agricultural development gradually declined, and with the influence of western development concepts, the soil on which traditional culture depended was very different from the past. This requires the traditional culture of China to change its development mode, which is also a major crisis that the traditional culture of China has encountered in the contemporary era.
Finally, the value orientation in traditional culture hardly affects the values of modern China people. The traditional ideas in China civilization have influenced China people for nearly a thousand years, and this influence can be seen everywhere in our lives. The Three Cardinals and the Five Permanent Principles and the Fiona Fang Rules can be said to directly constitute the outlook on life and values of China people in the past. Of course, many of these universal ethics are no longer applicable to modern people's life today, and many feudal ideas are harmful and need to be abandoned. However, there are still many ideas that embody the fine moral character of the Chinese nation in traditional concepts, and these values should be advocated in today's impetuous world. The western values brought by the strong invasion of western culture are affecting the younger generation in China more profoundly than the traditional ideas, but there are also many values that are contrary to the traditional morality, such as money worship, hedonism and extreme individualism. These western cultures are mixed in contemporary China, which makes the traditional values almost fall apart, especially among young people in China, and the traditional value orientation can hardly influence their decisions. It can be said that this is the sorrow of traditional culture that has existed for thousands of years, and it is also another major crisis facing Chinese civilization.
