How to interpret modern and contemporary prose in high school Chinese

Modern and contemporary prose, with its simple and beautiful words, rich local feelings, dignified historical accumulation and rich life breath, has become a beautiful landscape in high school Chinese textbooks. Throughout ancient and modern Chinese and foreign prose creation, whether lyrical, vivid, picturesque or caring ... all reflect the changes of the times and people's thoughts and feelings. In ancient China, all non-verse articles were called "prose". In modern times, "prose" refers to "literary prose", that is, all prose with literary nature, which is a literary genre juxtaposed with poetry, novel and drama. The prose I study here refers to the modern and contemporary literary prose selected in Chinese textbooks. Throughout the high school Chinese textbooks, modern and contemporary prose occupies a very important position and is a powerful new force in Chinese textbooks. However, for a long time, there have been some misunderstandings in the selection and teaching of prose, from paying too much attention to instrumentality and ideology to one-sided emphasis on humanism, from blindly following old rules to blindly seeking new ones, from swallowing the text alive to ignoring the interpretation of the text, and so on. Prose is brilliant and vicissitudes in Chinese textbooks. This paper intends to study modern and contemporary prose from four parts: the importance of prose in middle school Chinese teaching, the evolution of prose selections in high school Chinese textbooks, the comparison of prose selections in current high school Chinese textbooks and the discussion of prose selections in high school. The first part focuses on the characteristics of prose and its importance in Chinese education in middle schools. The second part, through the selection of typical and representative articles, comments on the selected essays since the founding of the People's Republic of China. In the third part, the author classifies and analyzes the selected essays of modern and contemporary Chinese textbooks in senior high schools according to the expression mode, the year of the works and the nationality of the authors, and analyzes the characteristics of the selected essays in the current Chinese textbooks in senior high schools. The fourth part discusses the related problems of prose selection in senior high school and puts forward some suggestions on prose selection.
