What are the classic Yang Operas?
The traditional repertoire of Yangzhou Opera is counted to be more than four hundred, and more than one hundred traditional plays, new historical plays and modern plays have been collated and adapted. Among them, "Hundred Years of Hanging on to Commander-in-Chief" in the 1950s was filmed and made into a documentary on stage art, and "Taking the Seal" (A Tale of Enmity and Vengeance) in the 1960s was transplanted to be staged by dozens of brotherly theater troupes. Hong Yan Zhuan Shu, a single-fold opera starring Gao Xiuying, a famous actor of Yangju Opera, was made into a record and had a certain influence in the country. In addition, the new traditional drama "Bao Gong Blames Himself" was also well received after the performance, and was transplanted to other provinces. There are also the 80's "Pi nine hot", 90's "inspector return home" and so on are also a sensation of the national opera industry's outstanding plays.
