What's the difference between Doppler and foam Doppler?
1. Different experimental methods: Doppler uses traditional experimental methods to obtain data, and foam Doppler experimental method is more advanced.
2. Different operation modes: Doppler operation mode is more primitive and bears greater risks, while foam Doppler operation mode is simpler and less risky. Doppler is mainly used to detect the changes of blood flow, such as the distribution, direction and speed of blood flow. Foaming Doppler is an examination item to check patent foramen ovale. The foaming test is to mix physiological saline and bubbles into human blood vessels. If patent foramen ovale appears, bubbles will enter the left heart from the right heart, and then directly enter the brain from the left heart, which may cause dizziness and headache. The purpose of foaming test is to detect the positive rate. If the foaming test is above grade 3, it is positive and has surgical indications, so minimally invasive interventional therapy is needed.
