What do you mean by cutting honey?
Honey cutting is a Chinese character, pronounced g ē m ē, which is the honey collection method of the old beekeeping method. Unlike the common boxed honey in the market, which can be harvested many times, the bottled honey brewed by ground bees can only be harvested once a year, and this harvest is destructive. After picking the honey in the bee barrel, it will be cut together with the hive, so it is called honey cutting.
Soil bees raised in indigenous barrels are harvested with honey. Local honey is brewed by picking flowers, and the yield is low. Autumn is the harvest season. For beekeepers in Huangyukou Village, Shicheng Town, Miyun District, the joy of harvest is a little sweeter than others. Before and after the first frost, their bees brewed barrels of honey for half a year and entered the honey cutting period.
The best time to cut honey
Honey is cut in the evening every day, because bees don't participate much in the evening, and most worker bees return to their nests. When taking honey, it should not be done in rainy days. In addition, the time to take honey depends on the temperature of the weather.
After taking honey, you can ensure that there are enough worker bees and time to repair the damaged nest spleen. If the temperature is low, it should be done in the early morning. At this time, the temperature is relatively high in a day, and the spleen is not easily frozen. If it is winter, there should be enough spleen to ensure that bees spend the winter, and it is best not to take honey.
