The origin and development of Taekwondo?
The origin of Taekwondo is related to the Korean Peninsula and the Three Kingdoms Period. At that time, North Korea, Silla and Baekje rose in succession to compete for territory, and disputes arose everywhere. This period is an important period for the rapid development of Taekwondo. At that time, martial arts practitioners were able to use their hands and feet flexibly to defeat their opponents and become excellent soldiers. Korea, Silla and Baekje used different names for Taekwondo at that time. At that time, Korea called Taekwondo "hand-to-hand combat", Silla called Taekwondo "Hua" and Baekje called Taekwondo "Taekwondo Heel". All three countries use Taekwondo martial arts in selecting officers and military affairs.
Development of Taekwondo:
19 10 After Japan invaded Korea, all Korean cultural activities including Taekwondo were banned. At this time, Taekwondo skills collapsed in North Korea, and Koreans living in Japan saved Taekwondo. After Japan surrendered to South Korea's independence, self-defense rose again. North Koreans who once wandered in Japan and other countries have also returned to China, and at the same time brought martial arts from other countries back to North Korea. Gradually formed the basic system of modern Taekwondo.
1955 officially called Korean self-defense "Taekwondo". Korea1961September established the Tang Shoudao Association, which was later renamed the Taekwondo Association and became the official event of the National Games. The first international organization, the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF), was established in 1966, and the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) was established in Seoul in May 1973. Taekwondo made its debut at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. In order to adapt to major international competitions, it has been continuously reformed and developed.
Taekwondo practice is carried out in the form of fighting between two sides, but no matter how intense, because both sides aim at improving their skills and tempering their will, they should hold the psychology of showing respect and learning to each other in their own hearts. Therefore, we must salute each other before and after practice or competition, which is the martial spirit of "starting with ceremony and ending with ceremony" advocated by Taekwondo.
