Introduction to TS Eliot
English poet and literary critic. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Grandfather is the founder of Washington University, his father is in business, and his mother is enthusiastic about charity and engaged in poetry creation. Eliot entered Harvard University in 1906 to study philosophy, during which he also studied the works of poets Donne and Dante and playwright Elizabeth and James, which played an important role in his later literary criticism. 1908, he came into contact with French modernist poetry from the book Symbolic Movement of Literature written by Simmons (1865- 1945), which influenced his writing in1915-1. Eliot is regarded as the most influential English poet before the Second World War, and he played a pioneering role in British and American modernist literature and new criticism's criticism.
