Who made up the drama of civet cats becoming princes?
"Civet cats for princes" was written by Shi Yukun in Qing Dynasty, and it took several retrospectives to render it in "Three Heroes and Five Righteousnesses".
The story took place in the Song Dynasty, and the author made it up, but it was actually set in the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty.
There are many kinds of operas in which civet cats are exchanged for princes, such as Beijing Opera, Henan Quju Opera, Bangzi Opera, Shao Opera, Henan Opera, Yue Opera and Hunan Opera.
