The ancient loess pagoda complex is located in.

The ancient loess pagodas are located in Harlan, southeastern Turkey.

In Harlan, located in the southeast of Turkey, there is a traditional folk house with distinctive regional characteristics-the ancient loess tower, which historians call "honeycomb house". Generally, it is composed of three or four earth towers, mainly made of mud mixed with thatch and wheat ears. This may be the oldest human settlement on the earth, and the unique lifestyle of local residents is a unique landscape in the world.

The "honeycomb house" is on the verge of extinction, so ancient buildings like this can only be found in Harlan in southeastern Turkey and parts of Syria.

architectural feature

The wall of the "honeycomb house" is 80CM thick, which is the product of the local climate environment of "hot summer, rainy winter and sandstorm in spring and autumn". The wall thickness can block the sunshine in summer, make the room cooler, block the cold air in winter, slow down the indoor temperature and resist the impact of sand and rain, so the honeycomb house is an ancient and superior ecological house. The earthen tower has a constant temperature function, so most residents in the town will still live in it.

At first, the honeycomb house was built only with mud and animal manure, and later bricks were added as supporting structures. Generally, a honeycomb room is connected by three or four earth towers to increase the usable area, and the soil on the surface of the earth towers has the wonderful function of keeping the indoor constant temperature, so as to achieve the effect of being warm in winter and cool in summer.
