Brief introduction of revolutionary martyrs cemetery in southeastern Shandong
On both sides of the square, there are 24-meter-long British Antique Martyrs Monument and Fang Ming Monument. The names of 2,270 martyrs who died in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the defence of the country and the rescue and disaster relief are engraved on the monument, 108 foreign martyrs who died in Junan County. The inscription "Relocation of Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery in Southeast Shandong" and the English model records during the Anti-Japanese War are engraved on the back of the English directory monument for martyrs. On the front of the monument, there are inscriptions by party and state leaders, and on the back, there is a list of units and individuals who donated more than 5,000 yuan to the relocation project of the Martyrs Cemetery in southeastern Shandong 100 yuan.
Located on the central axis of the north side of the square, the "Exhibition Hall of Revolutionary Martyrs in Southeast Shandong" has a building area of 792 square meters. It is an antique glazed tile building, concrete frame, brick-concrete structure, two-story cornices and purple columns around it, which is majestic and solemn. The exhibition hall records the brilliant achievements and precious historical materials in various historical periods in southeastern Shandong. The East Pavilion displays the deeds and precious historical documents of Luo Shengte, an international proletarian fighter and Austrian friend who made outstanding contributions to the liberation of China during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period.
The remains of 485 martyrs (including 43 tombs of famous martyrs 143 and 342 tombs of unknown martyrs) and some remains of the old Red Army are buried in the martyrs' tomb area. At present, the cemetery has initially reached the standard of garden-style revolutionary memorial park. Towers and halls in the park are scattered, and flowers and trees are full of vitality; Four seasons in bloom, the flower beds and stone tablets are neat and beautiful. Evergreen pines and cypresses, with quiet environment, provide the best place for all walks of life to pay tribute to revolutionary heroes, inherit and carry forward revolutionary traditions, and receive education in patriotism and Yimeng spirit.
