What tools are needed to make classical furniture, and what is the production process?

Answer: 1. Wood will slowly dry;

Wood should be dried before making furniture. Because high-grade wood is oily and hard, it should be heated slowly from low to high in the drying process, and then cooled slowly after the temperature meets the requirements. This process usually takes one to two months, and some trees are even longer.

2. Cutting:

Saw logs into boards or squares to make various utensils. Cutting is a superb skill, especially for high-grade wood. Under the premise of avoiding natural defects of wood, try to cut long materials and cut one or two tangential sections according to the grain direction of wood.

3. Machining curved parts with a shovel saw;

Lot saw is a special tool for cutting curved parts, which is flexible and free to use. The wire sawing part is usually processed by technicians themselves. Now in addition to manual work, there are also machine operations.

4. Assembly:

Assemble the processed parts. Mass-produced parts will inevitably be loose, tight or loose during assembly, and tenons or mortises need to be trimmed at any time.

5. Hand crushing:

The adhesive used in traditional furniture is mainly swim bladder or pigskin fat (when processing, the dried swim bladder is soaked in warm water and then pounded repeatedly with a wooden mortar until it can be pulled into strips). Furniture glued with swim bladder is durable. Once it needs to be repaired, it can be soaked in warm water.

6. Carving:

Carving is a decorative pattern on furniture, including through carving, carving, high relief, shallow relief, flat carving, wool carving, round carving and so on. There is another difference between single-sided carving and double-sided carving. Flat carving is different from female carving and male carving.

7. Land clearing:

After the pattern is carved, the ground should be treated very smoothly, otherwise it will affect the overall effect of the pattern.

8. Polishing:

After clearing the land, I went into the grinding workshop and started grinding. The traditional practice is to use grass file grinding, now I use sandpaper, generally grinding four times, from coarse to fine. Grinding process is very important, which directly affects the product quality. If it is not polished properly, the workpiece will be worn; On the contrary, a good grinder can make up for the lack of sculptors.

9. Waxing:

It is made of many different kinds of wax, heated into liquid, and brushed on furniture with a brush.

10. Wax baking:

After waxing, in order to make the furniture fully absorb the wax liquid, it is necessary to bake it repeatedly with a hot fan, which is called baking wax.

1 1. Wax scraping:

After baking the wax, leave it for a day and a night to fully solidify it, and then scrape off the floating wax on the surface. After scraping the floating wax clean, wipe it repeatedly with coarse cloth and fine cloth, which is called polishing.
