This hand-made "Transformers" with mortise and tenon skills is called "Yan Jiaren", which is a wooden doll customized by a game company in Beijing for grandpa carpenter. The carpenter's grandfather is Li Shishui, a native of xinqiao town, Changting County, Longyan. I have been a carpenter for more than 50 years since 1969. Without a nail, a drop of glue or any modern mechanical tools, Li Shishui can turn ordinary wood into various daily necessities and even handicrafts with only a pair of skillful hands.

Li Shishui said frankly that carpentry needs not only care, but also patience. Every handmade product has to be polished and debugged hundreds of times.
