Rehabilitation therapeutics mainly studies the basic knowledge and skills of basic medicine, clinical medicine, rehabilitation therapeutics, rehabilitation prevention and evaluation, and carries out rehabilitation treatment, rehabilitation evaluation, preventive health care, etc. For example: joint activity training for patients with joint injury, rehabilitation training for paralyzed patients, evaluation of patients' rehabilitation, and recovery guidance for athletes after injury.

Shanghai jiao tong university rehabilitation engineering institute

The Institute of Rehabilitation Engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University was first established in April 1988, with Academician Chen Zhongwei, the father of replantation of severed limbs in the world, as its first director. Rehabilitation Institute is the first research institution in China to realize the combination of medicine and work, specializing in rehabilitation engineering research and medical transformation.

On July 22, 20 10, the reorganization was unveiled. Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand attended the unveiling ceremony. Relying on the Med-X Institute of our school, the Rehabilitation Institute received strong support from the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and was approved to establish the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Control and Rehabilitation Technology of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on 20 16. At present, it has become one of the important interdisciplinary scientific research and medical transformation bases.

Since its establishment, the Institute of Rehabilitation Engineering has focused on the international frontier research field to meet the important needs of the development of national and clinical medicine, focusing on the research work of nerve rehabilitation foundation, key engineering technology of nerve rehabilitation, clinical application of nerve rehabilitation and curative effect evaluation. A series of innovative technology research and development of rehabilitation medical devices with international advanced and domestic leading level have been carried out.

Actively explore the innovative transformation mode of "Industry-University-Research Use" and establish cooperative relations with many domestic enterprises in Industry-University-Research. In addition, joint laboratories and scientific research cooperation projects have been established with Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Ruijin Hospital, Sixth People's Hospital, Renji Hospital and Xinhua Hospital, which laid the foundation for the further combination of basic research and clinical medical care.
