Lonicera japonica leaves, ovoid to oblong-ovoid, sometimes ovoid-lanceolate, sparsely ovoid or obovate, rarely with 1 to several blunt defects, with sharp or tapering tips, few blunt defects, round or slightly concave defects, round or nearly heart-shaped base, rough hair, dark green top and light green bottom. The upper leaves of branchlets are usually thick, short and rough on both sides, while the lower leaves are usually smooth and hairless, with a little blue-gray at the bottom.
