Curriculum development method

The methods of curriculum development include: goal, process, situation, nature, research and practice.

Curriculum development is a process of planning, implementing and summarizing feedback for learners' learning activities. It is a dynamic process, including the stages and modes of curriculum development. The word "curriculum development" comes from English curriculum development and is also translated as "curriculum preparation", "curriculum development" or "curriculum development".

Different definitions of curriculum design can be roughly divided into two categories: one is technology-oriented. For example, Pratt believes that curriculum design is all the activities that curriculum workers engage in, including his careful thinking process on the factors, technologies and procedures needed to achieve curriculum goals.

The other is rationalism. For example, some scholars believe that curriculum design refers to the study of courses and the formulation of curriculum learning plans by experts and scholars in educational and scientific research institutions, serving decision-making departments, formulating educational and teaching goals and tasks, determining the selection of teaching materials and the scope of teaching subjects, and compiling teaching materials, which belongs to curriculum design activities.

Recent research on curriculum design attempts to integrate these two viewpoints. For example, The Concise Encyclopedia of International Education defines curriculum design as "Curriculum design refers to the formulation of the organizational form and structure of a course." And pointed out that "it depends on the decision of curriculum development at two different levels."

The broad level includes the choice of basic values, and the specific level includes the technical arrangement and the implementation of curriculum elements. "Among them, the so-called broad level is roughly equivalent to the definition of rationalism curriculum design orientation, while the specific level is equivalent to the definition of technicalism curriculum design.
